I come from a loving, musical, hard working, good ole country family. My mom has sang and played the guitar all of her life (mom's name is Hootie and Dad's name is Stub). Almost all of us ten kids play instruments and/or sing. My novelty song Garage Sale was written years after me and some siblings went yard salin'. That same night the song was written. It led to Jeff and I being featured on HGTV's "The Endless Yard Sale" that has aired several times since 2002. But......my life has not been without Challenges. At age 20, my life unraveled due to alcohol abuse and I fortunately began a recovery program. It was through all of this that I found my God, my self, my songs and my destiny. Shortly after, I moved to Minnesota and was exposed to the serenity and beauty of the Northwoods - and met and married Jeff. Jeff and I have been playing music together since February of 2000-locally, regionally and nationally. Jeff plays the Dejembe African hand drum and acoustic bass guitar. He sings with me as well. What a blessing it is to share all aspects of your life with your spouse! Jeff's enthusiastic support has been "the wind beneath my wings". Our music is called "New Country" which blends country music with mountain music. My songs have been inspired by my traditional roots with the warmth of Americana in every note. We hope you enjoy our music from "down on the farm". ~ |
